The Elementary ELA Standards for reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language will be explored in detail. Participants will study the organization of the standards documents, as well as key underlying principles and proven instructional moves that can have the greatest impact for school reform and student achievement. "Pathways to the Common Core: Accelerating Achievement" by Calkins, Ehrenworth, and Lehman is a required text and must be purchased by the participant.
