This course will cover a variety of inclusive topics. Participants will develop a background of inclusion based on legislature and history of inclusion movement. Participants will have the opportunity to work with curriculum modifications and adaptations pertaining to students with a wide range of disabilities. Behavior intervention strategies as well as peer support and facilitating social interactions will be reviewed. Mind, Brain, and Education Science is a newly emerging discipline that incorporates developmental psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and educational psychology to answer the question: “How do we learn best?” By studying MBE science, educators are able to make informed pedagogical decisions that work with the natural functioning of the brains and minds of students.
